Made Her Think.

The beginnings of this discovery was on the last page of this month's Vogue, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, revealing some of her favourite brands, 'I have a lot of fine jewellery from a designer called Made Her Think-its very reasonable and really feminine but with a cool edge' This in turn led me to Refinery 29's online interview...'Inside Jewel Genius Meredith Kahn's Chic Pad' who have been covering the Brooklyn jewelery designer Meredith Khan's beautiful, wearable pieces since they started the site. They have watched how this true jewellery genius has been growing and evolving right alongside her expanding line Made Her Think.
As a new fan, it seems right from the introduction that I have discovered a huge talent, she has a partnership in the works with Club Monaco, a men's jewellery collaboration with her husband, expanding to handbags and belts and a sneak peek at the photographs alongside the interview has souped up an oasis in Brooklyn she and her family like to call home, it was an insightful glimpse into her pretty amazing world...

Her catalyst for creating her jewelery line, Made Her Think? 'Well I like to always say that Made Her Think sort of found me. I am trained in apparel and was designing denim and kind of making jewellery on the side. I've always been obsessed with jewellery, specifically antique and vintage. I used to live at the flea markets and just buy tons of weird objects, charms and chains. In the beginning Made Her Think was totally inspired by Dia De Los Muertos and Frida Kahlo, but then it started to evolve into Victorian Mourning jewellery, then into the Art-Deco period. All that ultimately led to a signature style of soft and tough moody elegance, suing elements from all these different forms of inspiration mixed in with New York City grit that defines each collection.'

Her personal style in three words? 'How abut two: Lost and found'

And her style heroes? 'Kate Moss, Johnny Depp, Yohji Yamamoto, Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, Bianca Jagger and Daphne Guinness.'

Who's jewelery box would she raid? 'Cleopatra and Queen Victoria'

'I always like for my pieces to feel sentimental and emotional I think people totally feel that when they see and wear the pieces. They feel personal, and always seem to tell story. The collection kind of started that way and I think because I'm such a die hard romantic, I cant help but emit that.'

Before even reading the interview I looked through all the collections, the imagery speaks a thousand words and sums up her vision so beautifully.
