Quite a coincidence that I had previously published a post in reference to Le Smoking Blog only for two days later to see images of Kate Moss strutting down the catwalk smoking a cigarette for the Great Fashion House Louis Vuitton. To be honest although I have stated that the whole imagery has a certain look that I like along with the styling that coincides with such images I hate to think that this is unintentionally, hopefully, creating an image that smoking is cool. However, I'm not here to rant about what is politically correct I have a stronger interest on the fashion side and lets be honest if we were to choose a model that would pull of the act of smoking I would most defiantly turn to Miss Kate Moss, the Queen of all things cool with that rock and roll edge, not really coming as a shock to the audience who presumably have seen many images of her both on the pages of magazines and off duty smoking, to me it sort of sums up her whole image. Even without the controversial cigarette making an appearance on the catwalk I love the way Kate Moss makes any piece of clothing her own, in my opinion models have come a long way from merely being a clothes horse, this is evident from the amount of 'fans' certain models have built up, it has moved on from just appreciating them modelling designer pieces to appreciating their own individual style off duty, take for example Abbey Lee Kershaw, Bambi Northwood, Freya Beja and Erin Wasson to name just a few.
And referring back to Kate Moss having the ability to inspire many by every outfit she parades as soon as she steps out the front door aswell as appearing in all things published in Fashion and it doesn't need me to ramble on about all things Kate, its presumably all in the fact that she is still an admired Fashion Icon to this day, and Louis Vuitton collaborating with Women's Freedom was going to be a winner anyway with many, to have a model controversially smoking along a catwalk, ultimate attention...but to combine this with the showcase of Kate Moss....Mission Complete.
It seems Kate Moss can do no wrong even if it was Non-Smoking Day after reading the majority of reviews...
'Kate Moss has never been one to follow rules and yesterday was no exception when she ignored the ban - and No Smoking Day - and lit up on the catwalk.
Walking for Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week, Kate indulged her bad habit and proved she's still got it in a pair of tight hot pants and bondage-style lace-up boots.
Moss, who returned to the runway after a three year break, was the perfect choice to close the fetish-themed show and had the crowd cheering as she theatrically blew out smoke.'
